Copyright and Content Removal Policy
Effective 13 October 2026 · Last updated 13 October 2026
The short version. Life of Art does not host audio. We show song details and cover art, and link to songs on other platforms. If you own the rights to something on Life of Art and do not want it here, tell us and we will deal with it quickly. Artists can ask us to take their songs down for any reason.
1. What Life of Art shows
Life of Art does not host, stream or sell music. For each song, we show its title, artist name, cover art, genres, language and release details, and link to it on third-party platforms. These details come from public music databases, from streaming platforms and from artists who submit their own songs.
2. If you are the artist
If a song of yours is on Life of Art and you would rather it was not, for any reason, write to support.lifeofart@gmail.com with a link to the song's page on Life of Art. If you submitted the song yourself, write from the email address on your account. We remove songs within 15 days, and usually much sooner. You can also ask us to correct the details or cover art shown for your song.
3. Copyright complaints
If you own the copyright in something shown on Life of Art, or hold an exclusive licence to it, and you believe it appears without permission, send a written complaint to support.lifeofart@gmail.com. Following rule 75 of the Copyright Rules, 2013, please include:
- a description of the work, with proof that you own the copyright or an exclusive licence to it;
- details showing that the copy on Life of Art infringes your copyright and is not a permitted use under section 52 of the Copyright Act, 1957;
- the exact location of the copy, such as the link to the page on Life of Art;
- the name of the person who made the content available, if you know it;
- an undertaking that you will file a suit for infringement in a competent court and produce the court's order to us within 21 days of your complaint; and
- your name, contact details and signature (a typed full name is enough), and a statement that the information in your complaint is accurate.
4. What happens next
- We acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours.
- If we are satisfied from your complaint that the content infringes your copyright, we disable access to it within 36 hours of receiving the complaint.
- The content stays disabled for 21 days, or until we receive an order from a competent court, whichever is earlier. If we receive a court order restraining access, we follow it.
- If we do not receive a court order within 21 days, we may restore the content.
- Where it is appropriate, we tell the person who submitted the content, who may respond with evidence of their rights.
5. Trademarks, privacy and other complaints
For complaints about trademarks, impersonation, privacy or any other unlawful content, see our Grievance Redressal page. Complaints about content that shows a person's private area, nudity or a sexual act, or that impersonates a person, including through morphed or synthetically generated images, are acted on within 2 hours of receipt.
6. Repeat infringement and false complaints
We end the accounts of users who repeatedly submit content that infringes other people's rights. Sending a complaint you know to be false may make you legally liable, so please complain only about content you own or are authorised to act for.
