Questions and answers

The short answers. Each one links to a fuller page where there is more to say.

Does it cost anything?

No. Submitting is free right now. There is no submission fee.

Who can submit?

Anyone with a free account who has a song that is already out where people can listen. You can look around as a guest, but make an account so we can reach you about your submission.

Does my song have to be released already?

Yes. The form asks for a link where people can listen, so the song should be live on a streaming or sharing platform first.

How long does review take?

The form says a person listens within a few days. We do not promise a deadline, and nothing about the queue can be sped up.

Who listens to submissions?

A person. Every submission is played by a person before anything can go live. Nothing is scored by a model.

What do you look for?

We do not publish a checklist, because the question is a human one: is this song worth putting in front of listeners today? Follower count, label, and budget are not part of it.

Do I need followers or streams first?

No. Every artist starts at zero here, on purpose. A first release from a new name is reviewed the same way as anyone else's.

Can I pay to be featured or to get reviewed faster?

No. There is no paid promotion, no featured slot, and no way to buy a spot or a faster review.

How many songs can I send?

Up to five can be waiting for review at once. When one is decided, that place opens up again.

Can I take a song back?

Yes, while it is still pending. Open My Submissions and use Withdraw. A submission cannot be edited once sent, so if something is wrong, withdraw it and send it again.

What happens if my song is not selected?

You get an email, and a note from the reviewer when there is one. It is one person's read of one song on one day, not a verdict on your music. Send another whenever you have one.

What do I see once my song is live?

Plain counts for each song: how many listeners it was shown to, how many liked it and what share that is, and how many tapped through to listen.

Where do listeners hear my song?

On the platform you linked. Life of Art does not host or play the audio. A listener taps your song and is sent to it on their preferred platform when you have given us a link for it.

Does Life of Art pay artists?

No. We do not charge you and we do not pay for listens. When a listener plays your song on a streaming service, that service pays under its own terms.

Which genres and languages can I choose?

The form offers ten broad genres and twelve languages. Choose the ones that fit your song best.
